A hospital is an unlikely place for first love, but for two teenagers with cystic fibrosis who have a history of extended stays, it proves to be a realistic yet difficult backdrop. In this moving story two teens fall in love with just one minor complication—they can’t get within five feet of each other without risking their lives. This book is a good romance novel that takes two people that think that they don't have anything in common to them falling in love.

It was fun to read and is entertaining enough to read in one sitting. Five feet apart is told from the dual perspective of the two main characters, stella grant and will newman. Their verbal sparring early in the book sounds forced, but as the story progresses, the banter becomes more engaging and the characters gain more depth.
